A YEAR IN THE GARDENS

Here a colorful moth takes a taste of Alika Rose.

Sarah Van Fleet Rose also blooms all summer. Here she is just starting her season with Sweet Cicely and Angelica behind her.

Here is Sarah Van Fleet Rose just opening. Our best shot of this rose is with her definition.

Lady Penzance Rose is an unforgetable presence.

Rosa Mundi is another absolutely generous friend.

June is simply a bower of roses.

Out behind the perennial beds, Kathy weeds a few volunteer Rugosa Roses.

In another bed we set out the greenhouse babies.

This is what develops.

This is a combination of Bee Balm, annual Pompom Poppies, Nicotiana Sylvestris, Cleome and Hollyhocks.

Close-up of the Poppies and Bee Balm.

Looking down this bed in the opposite direction.

We grew a lot of Snapdragons again this year. Here the Angels had us set the Pink Snapdragons next to deep Red Nicotianas.

Here is another shot of this combination of Flowers.

Cosmos and Whirlygig Zinnias are also part of the mix.

The color is not very good in this slide but in real life the combination of Lauriana Rose, Pale Blue Deiphiniums and Yellow Helianthus is wonderful.
